Apartment Review for Watergrove Apartments - Memphis, TN

We moved in these apartments about a year ago and it has been nothing but heartache and frustration since! We moved from out of town so we had no idea of this place's bad name. The leasing people told us not to believe what we read on this ratings site. They said it was just a few angry people who were just bad news from the start. Well, I wish we would have listened to the reviews and ran the other way! The apartment they gave us looked nothing like the model. The doors did not close, they were missing knobs, we have NO cabinet space at all, the counter tops are peeling, and not to mention the qauilty of people that we live around. We pay almost $700 a month for a two bedroom that they are now leasing for $550. Trust me the area has gone way down hill. It is supposed to be a gated community, but the gates don't work and are just left open all the time. We have had neighbors knock on our door and ask us if we saw who robbed their apartment! We put in repair requests in july of 2009 and they still have been done as of march 2010. There is a big black trash bag that is hanging in the tree outside our apartment that has been there since we moved in and is still there. I honestly have no idea where the money goes we pay in rent because they do not use it to keep up the property or the apartments. The staff is very very rude and does not care about any concerns of the tentants. I have had slum-lords before, but these people and this place is the worst I have ever lived in. I am actually embaressed for my family to see where i live. DON'T RENT HERE!!!! YOU WOULD HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE IF YOU LIVED UNDER A BRIDGE!!!!
