Apartment Review for Edgewater Apartment - Memphis, TN

If you want your car and you apartment broken into move here!!

I lived in Edgewater Apartmens for 4 years. The apartment complex is huge. There was always one security guard and he was sleep half of the time. My apartment was never broken into but the apartment that was right behind mind had two breakins. Both times, there were different tenants in this apartment. My fiance's car was broken into twice. I made the office staff aware and there response was did you contact security, not showing any type of concern what so ever. The manager, Barbara, could care less whats goes on as long as you have your rent on time. When i moved out she tried to charge me over #$900 for carpet damage, and minor stuff like blinds and etc... Keep in mind the carpet was not even new when i moved in. It was put in my unit in "1999" i found out. However when i contacted Sunshine Corporation, the lady that handled my file was extremely nice and stated that they could not charge that amount because of the time it was put in. I truly beleive the manager tried to charge me that to get back of me because we had had words in the past. She tried to put a bad tenant rating on my credit report so that I would have a hard time moving somewhere else. I disputed this with the credit bureaus and it was removed. I have always had excellent credit and I moved to the Reserve at Dexter lake in Cordova and i absolutely love it there. I feel like i'm at a resort at night because of the beautiful view i have of the lake from my balcony. I'm so glad i left edgewater, i started not to feel safe there any more because of all the apartment and car breaks in. DONT MOVE TO THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX.
